After a costly back-pass error in the opening match of the 2024-2025 German Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae (28) could be dropped from the starting lineup to the bench after just one game.

Germany’s Bild reported on Monday (Aug. 31) that Kim will be left out of the starting lineup for the Bundesliga second leg between Munich and Freiburg at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

“In the opening match against Wolfsburg on Aug. 25, Munich won 3-2, but the back line of Alfonso Davies, Kim Min-jae, Dayo Upamecano, and Sasha Boy made mistake after mistake,” the media outlet explained.

Kim Min-jae started the game against Wolfsburg and played until the 36th minute. In the 10th minute of the second half, when the teams were tied 1-1, he lost the ball to a pressing Beemer on a backpass. This was the beginning of the mistake that cost them the lead.
