Busan I-Park signs former youth center back Sungwoo Jung
Professional soccer team Busan IPark has signed youth player Jung Sung-woo to strengthen its defense. “I’m happy to feel like I’m back home, and I’m grateful to the club for choosing me,” he said, adding, “I want to get out on the field as soon as possible and help the team.”
Born in 2003, Sung-woo is a Busan youth player who graduated from Nakdongjoong and Kaesong High School. In particular, he made a name for himself by playing a leading role when Kaesong High School won the 2019 K League U-17 Championship.
He then moved on to Sun Moon University, where he won the defensive award at the 17th Taebaeksanggi in 2022 and the best player award at the 18th Taebaeksanggi in 2023, leading the team to back-to-back titles. He recently gained international experience when he was selected to the U-21 national soccer team and competed in the Toulon Cup with the 토토사이트 순위 Maurice Rebels.
Jung is a defender who excels at reading the game from the back and leading the buildup. He is also good at controlling possession, utilizing his height of 189 centimeters. He is also looking forward to working with Heo Seung-chan, who joined Busan after graduating from Nakdongjoong and Kaesong High School together and has been playing well this year.
“As a youth player, I had a great desire to come to Busan. What I lacked in high school, I grew through personal training and learning from the coach at university. I’m happy to feel like I’m back home, and I’m grateful to the club for choosing me,” he said.
“When I played ballboy in middle and high school, I saw the supporters cheering so hard, and I always wanted to come to the pros and play in front of them. I can’t wait to get out on the field and become a player who can help the team.”
