Korean women’s interest in Jun Nishikawa was also covered by Japanese media. “Korean women flocked to Jun Nishikawa’s social media,” the sports and culture publication The Anser reported.

Jun’s last post was on September 3, more than a month ago, and it was filled with comments from Korean women. In fact, Jun’s Instagram post has over 11,000 likes and nearly 1,000 comments. Most of the comments were written in Korean and praised his appearance, including “I came this far after watching the Korea-Japan War,” “He’s handsome,” “He’s the biggest beneficiary of the Korea-Japan War,” and “Japan wins on looks.”

However, some people have expressed bitterness that soccer players are judged by their appearance instead of their soccer skills.
