KBL Hwoong tops All-Star fan vote for third straight year
For the third consecutive year, professional basketball player Heo Woong (Busan KCC) has been honored with the top spot in the 텍사스홀덤 All-Star Fan Vote.
The KBL announced that Heo won 166,616 votes out of a total of 339,206 votes cast in the All-Star Fan Voting for the 2023-24 season, which was held from Nov. 27 to Dec. 18. This is the third consecutive year Heo has topped the fan vote and the fifth time in his career. Heo’s younger brother Heo Hoon (Suwon KT) came in second place. Heo Hoon, who led KT’s rise after returning from the military, received 141,555 votes. Next-generation star Lee Jung-hyun (Goyang Sono) was third with 128,436 votes.
In addition to Heo, two KCC players rounded out the top five. Choi Jun-yong received 104,600 votes and Song Gyo-chang (KCC) received 100,295 votes to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. Yoo Yoo-sang (Changwon LG) was the only rookie to make the 24-man All-Star roster. In addition, foreign players Jamil Warney (Seoul SK) and Dedrick Lawson (Wonju DB) were selected for the first time.
The head coaches for the All-Star Game will be DB’s Kim Joo-sung, who leads the regular season, and LG’s Cho Sang-hyun, who is in second place. The team composition of the All-Star Game will be revealed after the managers select their players and form their coaching staffs through a draft that will be held later. This season’s All-Star Game will be held on January 14 at the Goyang Sono Arena in Gyeonggi Province.
