KLPGA ‘Major Queen’ Lee Da-yeon “I feel like I won two years ago again”

Lee has seven wins on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, three of them in majors.

She won the 2019 Korean Women’s Open, the 2021 Hanwha Classic, and this year’s KLPGA Championship.

Despite her diminutive frame, she has a long drive that travels quite far, and her clutch ability to make birdies when she needs them is second to none on the KLPGA Tour.

However, Lee is often sick.

Since her debut on the KLPGA Tour, she has broken her ankle once, ruptured a ligament in her wrist, and had to take a break from the tour for a while.

When she’s sick, she doesn’t perform well for a while, but when she recovers, she’s back to winning like a lightning bolt.

Lee withdrew from the Samdasoo Masters in Jeju earlier this month before the fourth round.

She finished the third round in a tie for 26th place, but the flu kept her from competing the following month.

When she finally recovered, she missed the cut at the Doosan Weave Championship, but at the next event, the Haiwon Resort Women’s Open, she tied for 23rd, signaling her return to form.

Lee shot a 5-under 67 in the second round of the third major of the season, the Hanwha Classic (total prize money of 1.7 billion won), at Jade Palace Golf Club (Par 72) in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, on Friday.

After falling short of expectations with a 2-over-par 74 in the first round, Lee moved into a tie for fourth place (3-under-par 141), three shots behind leader Park Min-ji.

All around Jade Palace Golf Club, players were chanting, “(Lee) Da-yeon has come up”.

They all know what Lee is capable of.

Lee’s 67 was the best score of the day.

The tournament organizers expected the course to be set up for a daily best score of 3-4 under par.

Lee, who won the tournament two years ago by seven strokes from second place, said, “It’s similar to the course setting when I won,” and added, “It brings back the feeling.”

“I’m confident that I can win tomorrow if I post my best score of the day,” said Lee, who is now healthy and free of illness. 토토사이트
