In taekwondo poomsae, Kang Wan-jin (Hongcheoncheong) won the first gold medal for the Korean team at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
Kang Wan-jin scored an average of 7.730 out of 10 in his first and second bouts to defeat Chinese Taipei’s Ma Yun-zhong (7.480) in the men’s individual pomsae final at the Lin’an Sports and Cultural Exhibition Center in Hangzhou, China on Thursday.
Kang, who won gold as part of the team at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, the first time taekwondo pomsae was included as an official sport, won his second consecutive individual gold medal.
