Korean Swimming’s Golden Generation, ‘Betting on Medals’
Kim Woo-min and Hwang Sun-woo, a ‘golden chorus’ in the 400m and 200m freestyle, and the men’s 800m relay also won the first silver medal in World Championship history.
At the 2024 International Swimming Federation World Championships, the Korean swimming team, which recorded the best performance in swimming history, made a golden return.
Representative athletes who opened a new path for Korean swimming in Doha, Qatar, including Kim Woo-min (22, Gangwon Provincial Office) and Hwang Sun-woo (20, Gangwon Provincial Office), returned through Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 19th.

Sun-Woo Hwang won the men’s 200m freestyle and finally collected a gold medal in this event, following a silver medal at the 2022 Budapest Games and a bronze medal at the 2023 Fukuoka Games.
