Professional basketball team Changwon LG extended its winning streak to six games with a victory over the Hyundai Mobis in Ulsan.
LG defeated Hyundai Mobis 88-80 in an away game of the 2023-2024 regular season at Dongcheon Gymnasium in Ulsan on Nov. 11.
Second-place LG, which extended its winning streak to six games dating back to last month’s game against Seoul SK, improved to 15-5 and closed the gap on leader Wonju DB (17-3) to two games.
Hyundai Mobis, with nine wins and 11 losses, dropped from sole possession of fifth place to a tie for fifth with Anyang Jungkwanjang.
The game was also a showdown between twin managers Cho Sang-hyun of LG and Cho Dong-hyun of Hyundai Mobis.
Yang Hong-seok scored 19 points, the most of any LG domestic player, including two 3-pointers in the decisive fourth quarter, and grabbed nine rebounds in the win.
There was also a steady performance from Asem Marei, who recorded a double-double with 22 points and 22 rebounds.
LG, which started the fourth quarter with a six-point lead, fell behind 73-74 midway through the quarter after Park Mubin and Lee Woo-seok missed three-pointers and Gage Prim from the perimeter.
Yang Hong-seok stepped up to the plate.
Yang hit a three-pointer from the left midcourt with just over three minutes left to put LG back in the game at 76-74.
With 49 seconds left, LG led 81-79, but Yang’s three-pointer crashed off the rim to seal the victory.
Hyundai Mobis lost momentum when Kim Kook-chan missed two free throws with 45 seconds left. 토토
