Ahn Se-Young, After the ‘Quitting Remark’…”Don’t Turn It Into a Retirement Statement”
Ahn Se-young (Samsung Life Insurance), who caused controversy when she said she was “disappointed in the national team” after winning the Olympic gold medal, has shared her feelings again.
“I wanted to enjoy the feeling of finishing my homework, but without having time to do so, the interview is expanding into another article,” Ahn said on her Instagram on June 6, adding, “My narrative has no easy highs and lows.”
“I wanted to talk about player management, but I’m hurt again by the articles of the federation and the coach that are unintentionally blaming me,” he said.
“It’s not because I’m good, but because I wanted to talk about how players need to be protected and managed, and how communication is more important than power, and it’s sad that it’s played out in sensationalized articles,” he said.
“Please understand that I’m not at war with anyone, but I’m talking about protecting athletes,” he said, adding, “Please don’t turn it into a retirement. I hope there are adults who will think about the things I want to talk about and resolve them,” he added.
Earlier in the day, Ahn defeated He Bingjiao (China) 2-0 (21-13 21-16) in the women’s singles final of the badminton badminton at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the Porte de la Chapelle stadium in Paris, France.
It had been 28 years since a South Korean player had won gold in the women’s singles since Soo Hyun Hwang at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
However, Ahn shocked the world by saying, “My injury was more serious than I thought, and I was very disappointed with the national team for being so complacent,” adding, “I also thought it would be difficult to continue with the national team after this moment.”
In response, the Badminton Association of Korea said, “The association did the best it could,” adding, “All training was conducted in accordance with Se-young’s physical condition and schedule.” 토토사이트 추천
