Samsung Selects Yoochan Son and Tae-gyun Kim as Recipients of ‘Kim Hyun-joon Basketball Scholarship’

Samsung Electronics in Seoul, South Korea, has announced the winners of the 24th Kim Hyun-joon Basketball Scholarship: Son Yoo-chan (Hongdae High School 2) and Kim Tae-gyun (Samil High School 2).

Samsung said, “The selected winners will each receive a scholarship of 2 million won and a scholarship plaque. The scholarship handover ceremony will be held on March 2 at 4 p.m. during halftime of the game against 텍사스홀덤사이트 Ulsan Hyundai Mobis,” Samsung said on March 28.

In addition to the scholarships, the winners will receive various training items such as training clothes and basketball shoes. They will also visit the STC and meet with Samsung players. They will also receive education on basic physical fitness checks and various training programs to prevent injuries.

The ‘Kim Hyun-joon Basketball Scholarship’ is organized in honor of the late Kim, who led the development of Korean basketball, to support promising basketball players. This is the 24th edition of the scholarship, and since 2000, it has provided 76 scholarships totaling KRW 167.7 million to 76 students by accumulating a certain amount of money per team victory. Starting with the 11th scholarship in 2011, the program was expanded from the Seoul area to the entire country, and the recipients were selected based on recommendations from coaches and various competition records.

Previous winners include Lee Dong-yup and Cha Min-seok of the Samsung Thunders, as well as the inaugural winners Yang Hee-jong (Anyang KGC), Choi Joon-yong, Lee Seung-hyun, and Song Kyo-chang (Busan KCC), Kim Nak-hyun (Korea Gas Corporation), and Yang Hong-seok (Changwon LG).
